Tactical Boots Are Needed For War Time And Peace Time
Tactical boots have been in use for centuries and were designed for use in hostile terrains like rocks, jungles, swamps, and waters. It is mainly in the background of wars that different types of tactical boots were fashioned because people were forced to frequent rugged terrains mainly in connection with wars.
For example, jungle boots underwent a lot of modifications in the background of the Vietnam War where much of the war was fought in swampy jungles. There were also other types of tactical boots like trench boots and tanker boots that were born to meet the circumstances of wars. Trench boots were made to meet the requirements of trench warfare, and tanker boots were for soldiers who fought on tanks.
People do not have to move much through inhospitable terrains during peacetime existence. Nor do other wartime requirements like jungle boots or tanker boots become applicable during peace times so that there was limited need for tactical boots in a normal city life. One exception to this rule is people like mountaineers and safari enthusiasts, who will need specialized tactical boots for mountain climbing and adventurous journeys during all times.
However, highly specialized tactical boots have now become a necessity not just for warfare and adventure hobbies. Police departments are nowadays all the time equipped with EOD boots which are tactical boots for protection from explosion, especially explosion at close range. In the wake of terrorism and insurgency which are the modern facets of warfare, threats have shifted from war fields to market squares and airports and metro stations where handling suspicious looking devices and unexploded bombs have become the routine cross of policemen.
EOD tactical boots will typically have a very strong shank made of steel or an equally tough composite fiber, which will have the advantage of being slightly lighter than steel. There will be a shin guard for additional protection, which too will be made of composite fiber. EOD boots will be multilayered with an inner and outer sole, with the upper of the shoes connected to the sole. Laminated canvas is used for making the upper of EOD tactical boots.
Another peace time requirement of highly specialized tactical boots is for handling nuclear, biological and chemical hazards. Army too is fully in need of these specialized boots during wartime, but such tactical boots also become necessary for clearing biological or chemical waste, or chemical spills. Such shoes will be made of strong polymers that can withstand chemicals and extreme temperatures. Triple Density Technology or TDT is used in these boots where three distinct compounds are mixed and injection molded to make the boots extra strong.
Chemical tactical boots vary in height from 11" to 17" and most users prefer very high boots. These boots are not tight fitting boots like combat boots or sports shoes but are large over-boots that may be worn over ordinary shoes or over the chemical suit itself. Midsoles of these boots will be made of stainless steel, and there will be a toe covering with steel or composite fiber. Most models will have insoles that can be washed and replaced. Many chemical tactical boots use a green color.
